You Know What Really Grinds My Gears... Valentine's Day.
That is all!!!
...and that my friends is What's Grinding My Gears!
"You know what really grinds my gears? Nobody's come up with a new priest and a rabbi joke in like thirty years. Ya know? I mean, okay, ah, umm. Priest and a rabbi go, go onto the supermarket, and, uh, the priest wants to buy a ham. And the rabbi says, "Ah, I can't eat it. It's forbidden." Couldn't eat it. Not allowed, pigs are like superheroes to them. Is it perfect? No, but I, I don't see you coming up with anything. And that people is what grinds my gears." - Peter Griffin

What Really Grinds My Gears... The Catalyst
I'm sorry but I'm starting this off with a rant! Ok. I get it. We're in a recession. Blah, blah, blah! Or are we? I'm tired of the mainstream media and even OUR own government driving this down our throats. Has anyone noticed that the media is driving up fears amongst people by continually stating that we are on the decline. They are creating a climate of financial fear and apparently, it's working! But then again, maybe this is what they want?! Don't allow yourself to be fooled. On another note, how can we possibly still be in a recession when the Super Bowl just passed and advertisers were paying $3 million dollars for a 3 minute commercial?!?!?!?! Someone please explain that to me?!
And don't even get me started on all this bailout shit! Cause First off, if it's a bailout... then why is it that only the big corporations that are going bankrupt are the only ones benefiting. It's cause they most likely have powerful government ties lobbying for them and their cause. What about all the individual people losing their homes and their jobs? Why is it that the big 'American' car companies and big banks are the ones getting bailed out? Isn't America a free market? I understand that if these companies go under that the economic effect would be great. With loss of American jobs, unemployment etc. But bailing out companies that aren't helping themselves by creating a superior product or service is ludicrous. You know what all this has led to... read this:
Bailout Crisis: Irresponsibility, Greed Has Overcome Companies
It has led to frivolous spending of TAXPAYERS hard earned money, by ignorant corporation heads who have gotten free money from our government, as a gift for their own personal failures!
Ok, now that I have gotten that rant out of the way.
You Know What Really Grinds My Gears... Gasoline is, was and has been The Catalyst for the financial woes of this country! Think about this. Really think about this. Ok. Whether or not you want to believe it, we went to war against Iraq for their oil. They have it, we need it. Since we're the "most powerful" country in the world, why not just go in there and get it! Right? With this thought we went and attacked Iraq. Iraq and all other big oil producing companies in turn, jack up the price on oil exponentially.
as a sidenote: I can remember when I started driving. It was 1999 and a gallon of gas cost $0.99 at its lowest point. C'mon! 99 cent gas! Just know that it will never be seen at that price ever again!
With the price of oil going up, it created a trickle down effect on every facet of the economy. From everyday products and supplies, to everyday services and consumers. To explain this... Since barrels of oil cost more, then gasoline costs more. Since gasoline costs more, it costs more to ship things cross country. With shipping costing more due to gasoline prices inflating, in turn every product that you buy at a store has to be shipped/trucked in at a higher price. If gas is at a higher price it costs more for those truck drivers to truck em in. Thus, the price on ALL products across the board goes up. Things like food, drinks, toothpaste, deodorant, computers, socks, underwear, etc. Pretty much everything you buy! Also, not to mention it costing more for YOU personally to get from point A to point B. Whether it be in your own car, on a bike that now costs more due to shipping costs or even a bus that is now charging more.
Now, with the price on all services and products going up due to the hike in gasoline prices. Why is it that now that gasoline prices have gone down, that the prices on services, goods and products are NOT going down as well???????????? Gasoline was The Catalyst for prices on everything to be raised! A coincidence, possibly. But highly unlikely. Conspiracy, I say it's possible!
I'll leave you with another example and all I ask, is that you make your own conclusion to this. A gallon of whole milk cost on average approximately $3.00 in 2001. Today a gallon of whole milk would run you an average of $3.62. I know that doesn't seem like much. But think of how many people buy a gallon of whole milk a day. That $0.62 per gallon can add up to hundreds of thousands in a day and billions in a year. Think about it. Now, more importantly think about EVERYTHING YOU BUY today and raise it by 20%.
And that my friends is WHAT's GRINDING MY GEARS!
