"You know what really grinds my gears? Nobody's come up with a new priest and a rabbi joke in like thirty years. Ya know? I mean, okay, ah, umm. Priest and a rabbi go, go onto the supermarket, and, uh, the priest wants to buy a ham. And the rabbi says, "Ah, I can't eat it. It's forbidden." Couldn't eat it. Not allowed, pigs are like superheroes to them. Is it perfect? No, but I, I don't see you coming up with anything. And that people is what grinds my gears." - Peter Griffin

What Really Grinds My Gears... The Catalyst
I'm sorry but I'm starting this off with a rant! Ok. I get it. We're in a recession. Blah, blah, blah! Or are we? I'm tired of the mainstream media and even OUR own government driving this down our throats. Has anyone noticed that the media is driving up fears amongst people by continually stating that we are on the decline. They are creating a climate of financial fear and apparently, it's working! But then again, maybe this is what they want?! Don't allow yourself to be fooled. On another note, how can we possibly still be in a recession when the Super Bowl just passed and advertisers were paying $3 million dollars for a 3 minute commercial?!?!?!?! Someone please explain that to me?!
And don't even get me started on all this bailout shit! Cause First off, if it's a bailout... then why is it that only the big corporations that are going bankrupt are the only ones benefiting. It's cause they most likely have powerful government ties lobbying for them and their cause. What about all the individual people losing their homes and their jobs? Why is it that the big 'American' car companies and big banks are the ones getting bailed out? Isn't America a free market? I understand that if these companies go under that the economic effect would be great. With loss of American jobs, unemployment etc. But bailing out companies that aren't helping themselves by creating a superior product or service is ludicrous. You know what all this has led to... read this:
Bailout Crisis: Irresponsibility, Greed Has Overcome Companies
It has led to frivolous spending of TAXPAYERS hard earned money, by ignorant corporation heads who have gotten free money from our government, as a gift for their own personal failures!
Ok, now that I have gotten that rant out of the way.
You Know What Really Grinds My Gears... Gasoline is, was and has been The Catalyst for the financial woes of this country! Think about this. Really think about this. Ok. Whether or not you want to believe it, we went to war against Iraq for their oil. They have it, we need it. Since we're the "most powerful" country in the world, why not just go in there and get it! Right? With this thought we went and attacked Iraq. Iraq and all other big oil producing companies in turn, jack up the price on oil exponentially.
as a sidenote: I can remember when I started driving. It was 1999 and a gallon of gas cost $0.99 at its lowest point. C'mon! 99 cent gas! Just know that it will never be seen at that price ever again!
With the price of oil going up, it created a trickle down effect on every facet of the economy. From everyday products and supplies, to everyday services and consumers. To explain this... Since barrels of oil cost more, then gasoline costs more. Since gasoline costs more, it costs more to ship things cross country. With shipping costing more due to gasoline prices inflating, in turn every product that you buy at a store has to be shipped/trucked in at a higher price. If gas is at a higher price it costs more for those truck drivers to truck em in. Thus, the price on ALL products across the board goes up. Things like food, drinks, toothpaste, deodorant, computers, socks, underwear, etc. Pretty much everything you buy! Also, not to mention it costing more for YOU personally to get from point A to point B. Whether it be in your own car, on a bike that now costs more due to shipping costs or even a bus that is now charging more.
Now, with the price on all services and products going up due to the hike in gasoline prices. Why is it that now that gasoline prices have gone down, that the prices on services, goods and products are NOT going down as well???????????? Gasoline was The Catalyst for prices on everything to be raised! A coincidence, possibly. But highly unlikely. Conspiracy, I say it's possible!
I'll leave you with another example and all I ask, is that you make your own conclusion to this. A gallon of whole milk cost on average approximately $3.00 in 2001. Today a gallon of whole milk would run you an average of $3.62. I know that doesn't seem like much. But think of how many people buy a gallon of whole milk a day. That $0.62 per gallon can add up to hundreds of thousands in a day and billions in a year. Think about it. Now, more importantly think about EVERYTHING YOU BUY today and raise it by 20%.
And that my friends is WHAT's GRINDING MY GEARS!

You know what really grinds my gears... politics.
Has anyone actually thought about why this country is in an economic crisis? Or even if we are in one? Or why are we still at war with a country that had nothing to do with the events of 9/11. Or why the culprits of 9/11 have yet to be captured or paid for what they've done? The answer to those questions is..... politics.
If you don't think that politicians use things like 9/11 and this supposed economic crisis to their advantage then you, my friend, are an idiot. Just watch the presidential debates and you will see that they in fact do. The simple fact of the matter is that these politicians simply talk about the problems and rarely take any NEEDED actions. Examples would be North Korea, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan etc, etc...the list could go on and on.
Politics and politicians have been around as long as there have been basic societies. To think that simply choosing new politicians will bring big change, is to think simple of change. Not to say that I believe that no one should vote, but that the changes have to be bigger than a few people. A few people who may or may not have the same interests as yourself. The changes have to be across the board. In the ways we think, act, do and say.
What pisses me off about politics is that political moves are for singular gains. Not gains for the people, which they should be. The biggest example of this is John McCain choosing Sarah Palin for his Vice President. The question that should be asked is, Would she be a good President? Because should something happen to McCain if he would be president then Palin would be next in line. The answer is... NO! Is the choice of Palin a power politic move to steal the votes of women who were previously siding with Hillary Clinton... YES! At this time in our country, we don't need political moves dictating who our future leaders are. We need the most qualified and best suited for what our needs as a country, NOW, in leadership roles. This is, in no way a ringing endorsement for Barack Obama. Cause to be honest, I don't believe he's qualified for the job either. This election is almost like trying to pick the lesser of two evils.
Have you ever watched Star Wars? I would like to compare this movie with our country. I know what you're thinking... How in the fucking world can I be comparing reality to a movie? On top of that, how can I be comparing it to a movie like Star Wars. The easiest way to put it is that there are people behind the scenes who are controlling everything and everyone. BUT are never seen. (Think about it. Darth Sidious AKA Senator Palpatine was like the ultimate politician.) And everyone is in belief that these people have their best interests in hand. When in fact they don't. BUT all it takes is for a few VERY strong people to revolt. When and if that will ever happen is the question. Watch Zeitgeist the movie. And you'll know what I'm talking about.
On a lighter note, and while we are speaking on politicians. I would like to say that SNL and Tina Fey's portrayal of Sarah Palin is just spot on and down right hilarious. My current fantasy is to be in a Sarah Palin/Tina Fey sammich. Yeah, I said it. hahahahahaha

You know what really grinds my gears... The East Coast.
I hate how the east coast thinks that it's better than the West Coast AKA the best coast! I hate how they walk around thinking that they're better than us. Just because they are 3 hours ahead of us. Who cares? Not I. I bet those smug bastards wake up in the morning and say, "I'm so glad I get to see the sun before those west coast bums." All I have to say to that is... when you bums are sleeping at 2am in the morning I'm still up partying or playing XBOX360 cause it's only 11pm here. So, HAH!
Another thing that I can't stand is eastern time. More specifically, EST time. You know when you watch T.V. and they tell you a show is coming on at say 8pm EST. It's like they assume that everyone watching T.V. is living on the east coast. And if you don't live on the east coast then you will have to figure it all out yourself. How hard is it to say 8pm EST, 5pm PAC. This get on my nerves cause I hate having to wake up on Sunday morning at 9am to watch some football. Now I know your saying to yourself, 'But football games don't start til 10:15am.' But I like to get up and watch the pregame shows to see what's going on around the league. Now you might think that this is not important, but it is. I have to know what's going on around the league so that I can set my Fantasy Football teams accordingly. I think it's ridiculous that everything is set up in accordance with the east coast.
As long as I'm speaking on sports, I cant stand the east coast bias in regards to sports. Me personally, I can care less about the New York Yankees and Mets, Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. But whenever the smallest thing occurs with one of these teams its blown up into the biggest extravaganza in sports. The Yankees and Mets didn't even make the playoffs and the Red Sox can just suck my balls. I don't even want to get started on the Patriots. Suffice it to say that they, as a team and organization are cheaters. Yet, these teams are always on ESPN and are talked about constantly on other various sports programs, websites and magazines. Why? I believe it's because of an east coast sports bias.
Lastly, Why is the nations capitol, federal reserve bank, Wall Street and the White House on the east coast? It's almost like they are saying that the government is more willing to take care of the east by having all of these important locations in Washington D.C. I personally think that the nations capitol should be in the direct center of this country. To better serve this fine country, that I love, the nations capitol should be located in Kansas. Yes, Kansas.
And that my friends is whats grinding my gears.

You know what really grinds my gears...
So I'm going to start this bitch off with an explanation of what this blog is all about. You may notice that I grabbed the title of the blog from Family Guy's Peter Griffin. If you don't know what I'm talking about then this might not be the blog for you. But to refresh the memory of those who do know, he had a segment on his local news station called What Really Grinds My Gears W/ Peter Griffin. Wherein he puts on air all his gripes, rants and raves with no opener, no body and no conclusion. Just a no bullshit talk about what's getting on his nerves and what he hates. I've got a lot on my mind and a lot of gripes with society, politics, religion, television, sports, and various other topics. Now it's my turn. Let the hilarity ensue!
